It really sounds like your neighbors are running a meth lab or some shit, what with the attack dogs, 'do not trespass' signs, and cameras and what have you.
But like I said in my first reply, I think you should keep your gate closed, or have the kids play inside for a few days while you contact an attorney and go from there. I believe you can contact the BAR association for some good referrals. (just did the search myself and found this for Georgia: http://www.abanet.org/legalservices/...lris.cfm?id=GA )
And sorry for your loss. WAR CHIHUAUA!!

I asked some of the neighbors who know these people better then I do what was up with all of that and they said they didn't want to speculate, but they do know that neither the husband nor the wife have a job. Couple that with the fact that they are gone 5 days at a time to 'someplace up north', it tends to make me wonder...
Yeah, the gate will be closed at all times, unless we are entering or leaving our property.
Oh, and I surely hope we don't have a meth lab up the street from us. I moved out here to get away from that kinda thing.

That happened to me I would dig a couple graves, wait till the "neighbors" went away and lure the dogs into my yard.
Shoot them, bury them, problem solved.
The dogs just "ran off".

At the very least you could always take them to small claims court and get as much money from them as possible. No lawyers needed.

I'm truly sorry for your loss. Being a dog owner myself these type of stories really get me furious, especially with the candid manner that the cops dismissed your claims and sorrow. Honestly, if something like that happened to my dog there would be hell to pay. Something would happen to those dogs.
My heart says find the dogs, break all their legs and look them in the eye as you choke them to death with your bare hands.
My head says be more sneaky if you plan on revenge.
The dogs owners need to be reprimanded one way or another as well. these type of stories really get to me.

If your wife and your kids were witness to them coming into your yard you should be able to sue them in small claims...It'll cost you next to nothing...Call your county court and tell them your whole situation and they'll give you the steps to take.....Unfortuneately I think you will only get the price of the dog back and not punitive damages because dogs are viewed as property under the law. Say it cost you a grand or something....Anyway, thats your best bet...act quick tho and try to get your dog back. Good luck

The grandfather idea is an awesome one, actually.
He'd avoid all trouble by living 2.5 hours away, few people know him, and the weapon is common enough.
I'd go for it, dude. Right away.
It's your duty to protect yourself and your family from this shit and if the law won't do it...well, the law never was there to protect anyway.

The other dogs? Well, I left that out too because I didn't want to start anything. I don't want this thread deleted or anyone getting teh bant for it. One is a German Shepard mix, one is a pit bull mix and the other was some type of cocker spaniel mix.
Believe me, I'd love to go onto the owners property, but they are paranoid about something. They have cameras and no trespassing signs all over their yard, so that idea is out of the question. Plus, I'm a more civil kind of guy. I'd rather take the legal route.

i thought my jack russell terrier could handle itself in a fight, but my dog got owned by this german shepard down the street

Same sort of thing happened to me. My neighbor's jack russel piece of shit came into my yard forced his way into my pet rabbit's (yes a pet rabbit) hutch and killed him while my pit bull mix slept (my dog alerted me with his crazy bark). Animal control came and said they couldnt do anything since the dog was back on it's own property (thanks to my wife who went and got the neighbor while I was beating that POS with my fist). They just said that he would have to buy me a new rabbit if I wanted one and that he could be cited if the dog repeatedly leaves his property. So, everytime I saw that little fuck (I also hate that fucking dog because it used to bark for hours on end) running around loose I called animal control. I also started calling them everytime that dog would bark longer than an hour straight. So, my neighbor's received two citations and now that dog hasnt ran free in the streets in a long time and they throw his ass in their garage when it starts on a barking marathon.

im sorry to hear that! you had a brave little dog! honour him and protect your family-- make sure that wont happen again. but go the legal way you have by all means to be there for your kids and wife- close the gate and make sure your home/yard is safe. the other dogs arent to blame they dont know whats right or wrong...
