Movies/Roles that would have been improved with different casting

there are a bunch of stories of actors that were almost cast but weren't, so what roles do you think would have been played much better by someone else?

For example i think Christopher Walken would have been 1000000 times better than Tom Cruise in that movie "collateral", but then again i hate tom cruise and love CW so this would go for most of his movies, but i'm interested in specific examples... So don't just say "any Ben Affleck movie' or something!

I'm especially interested in big movies that the actual actors got praise for, do you think someone else could have done it better?

I disagree. Shia did well in transformers, and I was also a transformers fan since a kid. The Reaping might have had potential if they didn't use hillary swank. Maybe keira knightly or something.

Actual Germans and Russians (speaking their native language) could have made Enemy At The Gates a good film. Or any other film where they have a non-English speaking group all chatting away in British and American accents.

Tom Cruise in Valkyrie. The movie isn't out yet and I know it'll be bad.

Ben Affleck in "The Sum of All Fears". Granted, that movie sucked some major ass anyway.

Harrison Ford in "Hollywood Homocide". Don't they know that HF is a bad ass? Not an idiot that gets ruined on the real estate market and has to be a douchebag throughout the entire film.

The new Godzilla in the Godzilla film that came out in the late 90's. Fuckin' gay.

he was cast well in that he's like the ideal blond man, but his performance was pretty damn bad. he can either be great, like in fight club, or he can try to do an accent and be horrible.
