Most impressive movie stunts

I got the idea for this thread after reading a post in one of the other movie threads:

What scene in a movie had the most impressive movie stunt in it? Something that you've always remembered.

I have a couple to start:

* The scene in Rambo where he jumps from the cliff and into the trees. This scene was hugely talked about at the time (I know, I'm showing my age). It was very impressive for its day as far as I can remember.

* Mr Majestic with Charles Bronson. Again from memory, there's a scene where a pick up truck is being driven really fast over cross country, and somebody is in the back of it. Have to see it to believe it.

* Ronin - Great car chase in it

* Jackie Chan's name should pop up here a few times. I remember Project A part II and the Black Dragon had some very impressive stunt work in it, but I'm struggling to remember specifics.

The original Poseidon Adventure where the guy falls backward from the ceiling thru the stained class. The stuntman had a matress to land on on the otherside of the glass and that's it. No safety harness, no net, nothing. If he had been half a foot too far to either side they would have neen scraping him up off the floor. Total balls. BTW, if you slow-mo the scene you can see the matress.

In the matrix revolution where they are flying around in the sky that was crazy I think they did it by hanging stunt men off helicopters imagine what would happen if the ropes got tangled up

Anything with Jackie Chan in it. Just watch the end of his films cos with the credits they usually show a load of his stunt out takes. Some are just plain amazing.

Yup Jackie Chan is the man (a nod to Buster Keaton...one of his inspirations).

Jackie almost died in Armour of God...the tree scene. I think he still has a hole in his head or a depression of some sort from that fall.

He also shattered his ankle jumping from the pillar onto the ship in Rumble in the Bronx. He was so tough that he had them but on a cast, then make him a sock that looked like his shoe. He covered the cast and finished filming the stunt. That movie is filled with incredible stunts. He's lucky to still be alive.

Yeah, I've heard now that he is so fucked up that he has to sleep on the floor because of the numerous injuries to his back. He has to have a hard surface.
