The most confusing RPG storyline

I vote for Final Fantasy Tactics or Xenogears.

ill have to agree with you both and say Xenogears.

Kind of a tangent but the soundtrack for Xenogears was superb.

FF7, so many little details in that game that i can never seem to put all together in the big picture..i think i got it down pretty well now after playing it like 40 times..naw not even.

The part of the game where you go back to Clouds hometown that was once destoryed and everyone is an impersonator saying they dont remember you. That part was pretty damn creepy in a zomg conspiracy kinda way.

Not a popular game, but SaGa Frontier was confusing as hell. Maybe it was because I was younger, but that game didn't make any sense to me at all.

Chrono Cross. confusing as shit. i'm glad they don't do too many RPG's any more where the protagonist doesn't talk. i hate that shit.

I would agree with both of these games, but I think a big reason that FFT was so confusing was the awful translation.

The most confusing game for me was FF5. I played it on an emulator and, especially towards the end, many of the conversations consisted of "(fill in later)".
