Everything I had wrong with me was waived (and by waived I mean the recruiter told to keep my mouth shut at MEPS).

The Army has EOD too if you'd rather not go in the Air Force. I was Signal Corps in the Army back in 00-02. Don't get flustered during basic training; it's only 9 weeks.

Just remember, recruiters = salesman. They will tell you a bunch of lies and fairy tale bullshit just to get you to enlist. Mine certainly did.

I spent 4 years as a Marine 0311(rifleman). The Infantry is a lot on your body. Prepare for 4 years of no sleep and constant agony. I came out feeling crippled and much older than I was. It did teach me a lot about life though that most people will never experience. The Marines is the hardest branch to get into. They probably will not accept you for your ear problem and your run-in with the law. Hell, I almost couldn't get in because I broke my arm when I was 8 and smoked weed once.

The Army will accept just about anybody right now and is offering good signing bonuses. If you are planning on just staying in for 4 years then I would recomend an MOS that'll prepare you for the civilian world after. The Infantry will prepare you for being a policeman afterwards, that's about it.

If I had to do it all over again I would've joined the Air Force or the Coast Guard. It is a much lower stress enviroment and a very comfortable way of living. I probably would've stayed in for 20 years if I chose this route. Even if you do not choose any one of these 2, later you will wish you did. Believe me, almost everybody does.

Go....

If you are dead set on joining the infantry, go into the Marine Corps. They are the best in the killing business and they do shorter deployments ( about 7 months ) compared to the Army ( about a year!).

If you want to join EOD, go into the Navy. There EOD teams are treated like gods and get the same bonus as Navy Seals. Remember there school is about year long.

Good luck buddy.

Dude, dont worry about getting shit waved.

my cousin was 18, never graduated high school (did not have his GED either) Was arrested 3 times at least for underaged drinking, has a large tattoo on his wrist/forearm. Got arrested for drunk driving the week he was supposed to leave for basic.

And he still got in the Navy, the recruiter pulled a lot of strings for him, and he is a better person for it

Yes, the recruiter will show up in court with you need be just to get u to sign...I would not worry about that.

But it sounds like you just don't have any direction. a good business man or the military can help u out with that.

Airforce is a far strech from infantry

My grandfather was a Marine. Marines seem to be the toughest group IMO.
