Jenna Fisher is the only thing that made the movie bearable

You weren't impressed with John C. Reily?

I find that interesting, because it was the only thing that really propelled the movie in my opinion.

Whether it was Chicago, Gangs of New York, hell, even The Perfect Storm, Reily always does good work.

I haven't seen it so I'm not going to knock it, but did anyone else find the previews very UNfunny? I felt like they tried to showcase some humor in it but forgot to include the punchline. Anyone know what I mean?

The previews were somewhat misleading if you ask me.

The previews really doesn't convey what the film really is, which is a good/bad thing.

Alright, cause I think John C. Riley is funny, but the previews made the movie look terrible, like a typical will ferrell movie. I'll have to check it out sometime

No, it's not slapstick (it can be at times though) but its very satire and parody driven, but unfortunately, its not solidly one or the either.

I'm a believer in doing one thing right, and doing it great, than doing multiple things and doing them OK.

Soulbane are you taking some class that's film related? Or do you just do these on your own time? Also have you ever practiced doing the short reviews? Like the one paragraph ones papers or magazines put out.

Actually no, I'm an English Major, with a focus on English Literature, German Literature, Composition and Rhetoric. I just happen to appreciate film in a similar sense. When I have time between classes or in a writing mood I write these reviews out. I just write, it's a great hobby and positive use of time for me.

I love and enjoy writing, if you guys would like shorter reviews, say so, these reviews are for you guys. So feedback and criticism is always appreciated, more so than compliments.

Let me know.

IMO Apatow movies always look worse in previews than they are.
40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up and Superbad looked worse in preview form.
He uses long form humor, which doesn't turn into 30 second clips well.

In 40 Year Old Virgin, it was hilarious when Carrell talked about potato salad for 6 minutes straight, in Knocked Up when Seth and Rudd were riffing off each other during the double date kept getting funnier the longer it went.

It also reminds me of the promotion of Hot Fuzz. Every preview had to show Nick Frost failing to jump over the fence, but that was the only instance of that form of humor in the movie (pretty much).
