Male Nurses
What are your guys's thoughts in men in the nursing profession or wanting to enter the nurisng profession? It used to be a male dominated profession, FYI.

There is nothing wrong with that. There is a shortage of nurses in general in my city.
You help people
you meet alot of people
you can make a ton of money...crazy hours although

Great, I can relate as I work with children also a female dominated profession, basically at the school it is me, the janitor, the woods n crafts dude and, one music teacher and one regular teacher. the rest is female.
Nursing is one helluva tough job, that gets to little recongition and afaik atleast in Sweden it is not paid well

I actually applied to the College of Nursing in my area. I think I would enjoy that job, and anytime I've ever been in a hospital the male nurses seem to know their shit more than the female nurses. Good profession, good pay!

Nurses get compensated fairly well in the U.S. due to our non-socialized medicine system. 
I think the male nurse stigma has started to fade out. People still make the "Murse" joke but if you are getting paid well who cares.

Yeah they get paid pretty good.I know 2 male nurses.
one of them makes around 6 figures a year.
the 2nd makes around 65 a year with a 1000$ housing allowance each month
Both their hours are crazy as hell...like four 12 hour days a week

one of my buddies is a nurse, and he makes a mint. there shouldn't be any stigma about being a dude nurse.
that said, we still make male nurse jokes around him. but it's all fun and games.. you'd have to be an idiot to have a serious opinion that male nurses are by nature less manly.
