magic the gathering

-the lord of the rings one
-and a post by Throatpoker on the lord of the rings thread

magic the gathering. ive always loved how the cards looked, and i always wanted to really learn how to play, but i never really picked up the real rules of the game. i played countless times with my bro/cousins/friends. ive played yu gi oh and ive gone to several tournments for it.

I'll confess (and did in the nerd thread).

I'm kinda excited about the new set.
They've done some shaking up of the art and creature types.

I've played off and on ever since Fallen Empires and Revised. I probably have 15-20 dual lands which are 'valued' at $20ish a piece. One card I have, Mishra's Workshop, is now worth $150-200.

I used to play Magic a lot when I was younger, one of the many fads I fell into. I still got my all my decks too. I gotta check around and see if any of them are worth anything.

I played since Unlimited and had full sets of everything up through Alliances. I got into it again a few years ago for maybe a year or so, but got discouraged with all the net decking. It's a great game.

When I was in high school, EVERYONE at academic meets was playing magic. It was great.
