Madden game scores big sales

More than 2 million copies of Madden NFL 07, the video game produced by Maitland-based EA Tiburon, were sold in the first week following its Aug. 22 release -- the game's best sales start in its 17-year history, the company said Friday.

"We put a ton of innovation into Madden NFL 07 from new game modes and controls to NFL Superstar Hall of Fame," said Todd Sitrin, vice president of marketing for Electronic Arts Inc., the local studio's parent company.

Unit sales of the game were up 12 percent over the 1.8 million units sold during the same period last year, the company said.

I used to be a hardcore player of madden, played in number of tournaments but i think ive finally had enough of that game. Im glad to see it doing well, but i like the college football game better now.

That is going to be a lot of pissed off people once they realize that 06 is better than 07. It feels to me like they messed up the feel of controls in this one.

if your talking about xbox 360,your wrong. cuz 06 was a failure for that system as far as game play goes. but the xbox version was great.

I got 07 for the 360 and it is a fucking suck fest.

I held off buying 06 since it was a half assed product, but I should have gone with 06 so I could have been disapointed a year earlier.

The problem isn't the 360, EA fucked everybody by taking out playmaker and the fantasy draft.

The did add the the superstar mode, but they forgot the patch that makes it fun.
