At least you changed up a little bit on the Desmond one, I thought that was one of the best ones of the whole series. I do agree that the last two have been kind of slow, but I think the rest of this season has been suprisingly good so far.

Jeremy Davies has been studying Manson for years. There was a long period wherein he always seemed on the verge of landing the role in some form or another. Only to have it slip away. I believe he finally got it on, sadly, some television special.
Check out his performance in SOLARIS. It's pretty uncanny.

I was watching the Past, Present, Future episode and realized Richard was the same person who orchestrated both Ben and Locke killing their fathers. This makes me think that Locke is going to become the new "leader" of the others.

Yes, don't read this thread though.
Run out immediately (assuming you have the time) and watch all the episodes in order either by renting, downloading, or streaming them off abc.com for free.

I just want to stress how vital it is for you to start from Season 1 and work your way forward. Lost isn't a show you can jump into the middle of.

I also think that the person in the coffin is Michael. In the last episode of season 3, Jack has a flashforward to a jet flight where he reads that a man from New York has died in Los Angeles. I'm guessing that this is the person in the coffin. and I remember Michael being from New York. That would explain why Kate didn't want to go to the funeral. Why did Jack go? My guess is for confirmation of his greatest regret, that everyone remaining on the island was killed. Jack's flashfoward in that episode coincided with his scene with Ben, where Ben warns him that everyone on the island will die. I believe what someone else theorized, that Michael was sent by Ben to intercept the freighter. So Michael's death would suggest he failed, and the freighter got to the island and bad things happened.
Penelope's father seems very much like a man motivated by money. Ben told Locke that the island is a place people would want to visit and see, who wouldn't be interested in a place that cured a man's paralysis? What a great money making venture, so long as the others and the survivors can be eradicated from the island.

Sorry, I can't edit with dubs, but I want to add that it is after reading about the man from New York's death when Jack thinks about killing himself. From the moment he crashed on the island, all he tried to do was save his fellow survivors. The thought of them dying could be enough to drive him to suicide.
