I really liked it. More action than the last couple of episodes.

I love Sayid focused eps. They are some of the best.

"the economist" made sayid seem like more of a badass, so good for him.
i need a jin-centric episode though, he hasn't been in the last few.
edit: and if they get rid of daniel dae kim because of his dui or whatever that's dumb as hell.

Lost is not really a show where you can just pick it up. It will not make sense. I would suggest you start at abc.com and see which shows they have for free up there.
Otherwise you could rent through Netflix or wherever.

The lady who does the Lost blog for the Chronicle FINALLY has it up. A few things of note:
In "Exodus, Part II," Kate becomes upset with Jack when she realizes that he swapped out the backpacks so that she wouldn't be carrying the dynamite. In response, Jack snaps: "Everybody wants me to be a leader until I make a decision that they don't like. You want to keep second guessing me, Kate? That's your call. There's something that you need to know. If we survive this, if we survive tonight we're going to have a Locke problem and I have to know that you've got my back." Interesting that A. they now, indeed, have their "Locke Problem," and that B. Locke is having a similar tiff over in Team Locke over people questioning his authority.
And a scene was deleted:
I was delighted by a few key differences in the final version of The Economist vs the cut I was fortunate enough to see in advance of airing. For one thing, the time difference between the rocket and Daniel's timer was 31 minutes instead of 31 seconds, and we all know bigger is better.
Then there was the chilling exchange in the end. In earlier prints there was no mention of a separate incident where Sayid's heart fouled up plans. Nor was there a line "You want to protect your friends, don't you?" The result was a much more chilling and enigmatic scene.
There was one scene that involved Miles, Kate, and Sayid arriving at the perimeter fence though that was extremely interesting. I was surprised to see it cut, so I decided to transcribe it for you here:
The Fence Scene
From "The Economist"
MILES
What is this?
SAYID
A Security fence. When activated, the pylons
emit a high pitch frequency that will kill anyone
who passes through it. We used a tree to climb...
MILES raises his hand towards Sayid. He seems to hear something.
MILES
SHHHHHHHHH!!!
SAYID stops and watches MILES as he scans the surroundings, listening intently.
SAYID (Sarcastic)
I'm sorry, are we supposed to be
hearing something?
A beat passes and MILES is suddenly aware that SAYID had spoken to him.
MILES
I'm sorry, what?
KATE is examining the control panel.
KATE
Maybe I can shut it off.
SAYID joins her, bending over to examine the panel.
SAYID
And, how might you do that?
KATE
I saw Juliet do it once.
SAYID (Doubtful)
Without the code?
ANGLE ON MILES. He continues to scan with a slight twitch, similar to when we saw him reading the boys room in Confirmed Dead. Suddenly he walks through the pylons and turns towards an astonished KATE and SAYID.
MILES
Hey, I don't think its on.
KATE
And how did you know that?
MILES
Lucky guess.
MILES turns and walks away. SAYID and KATE exchange puzzled glances and proceed after him.
Lost note: The shot of Kate looking under the bed, only to spy a pair of boots enter the room mirrors exactly the scene in "Outlaws" when Young Sawyer's mom hides him under the bed and urges him to be quiet. After she leaves the room, and is shot off-screen by Sawyer's father, Mr. Ford enters the room, all we see are his boots, and he shoots himself. It's an interesting reversal, though, because this time, the man entering the room is urging the one who had been under the bed to be quiet, and the one under the bed is the one with the gun ... Also, Sawyer = Mr. Ford. Or something.

I just re-watched last weeks again, that was a really good ep. Sayid is definately the baddest man on the island. I loved when Danielle and Hurley were walking him to their holding house and Sayid said, "don't worry Hurley I'm not going to hurt you." Then Hurley's response was like, "dude, I saw you do that break dance thing and break that guys neck." That was pretty funny, and that move Sayid did on that guy was ridiculous.
I'm also really interested in seeing what him and Desmond find out on that freighter.

Yeah, that move Sayid did was pretty sweet, reminded me of something Uma Thurman did in Kill Bill when she was fighting the Crazy 88 mob.
