Lost and Heroes has to be my two favorite shows. I hope this season answers a lot of questions though. I'm tired of them running around in circles with the plot.

I enjoyed the first season of Heroes, thought it was pretty cool. But this second season/chapter was pretty weak. It was so slow, Hiro was in past-Japan way too long, nothing happened with Peter until the end, there was too much sappy shit with Claire and flying boy. I was disappointed, I hope their next season is better.

certainly goes along with my theory..
There are no flashbacks or flashforwards, just alternate realities.

I agree. They could have handled everything that happend with Hiro in the past in four epsiodes instead of 12. The whole New Orleans arc for Nikki, her son, and the burgr girl was AWFUL.
Peter in Ireland was another time waster, and we are supposed to believe he falls so in love with the Irish chick that he is willing to sacrafice everything for her?
All could have been handled in a couple of episodes and moved on. I read an interview with the producers and they realize they made a mistake and will use less build up and more action in the future.

2. The Garden of Eden: Lost island is the garden of Eden and the Smoke Monster is the Cherubim set outside the Garden by God. Note that it fled initially from scripture read by Mr. Ecko.
3. Lost Island is Shangrila. This links it with the notion of the Dharma Institute, which is a reference to the Buddhist notion of law, which Shangrila was supposed to exemplify.

The series creators confirmed awhile back that it wasn't Purgatory; that they most definitely aren't dead.

I'd also like to point to the known fact that the Dharma institute was very much into psychological testing. This seems very "Baby Albert"esque.
Also, didn't Rousseau speak of how "the Others" went nuts from a disease (perhaps the same one killing their women)?
|
I think Rousseau was just a bit kooky because she didn't understand what was going on; it's clear that the women weren't being killed, but that the pregnant ones were dying.

Nice! Only further cements my theories.

Micheal Abbadon: Abbadon literally means angel of the abyss. Michael is the angel of death. He is looking for the lost (souls), but cannot find them because they bounced between dimensions..
Faraday: the faraday cage, or electromagnetic hole. Thought to be what the middle or throat of an einstein rosen bridge would consist of.
Multi-dimensional travel, time travel, and science vs faith...themes that will play out later in this story...as for now, we can say that the angel of death is looking for souls that skiipped out of this world without judgement, and found themselves at the base of jacobs ladder to heaven. Basically giving them the means to pass through the real and spiritual any time they choose.
interesting writing.

Very interesting! Although I still don't believe they're actually "dead". But am I the only one who believes that once someone dies on the island, something far more different happens with them? I've thought that for a little bit, and then the part where Charlie showed up to Hurley blew my mind, in regards to it. Clearly, there is more involved with dying on the island than just dying.

Ugh, I hate Heroes. I liked it at first, but as the first season dragged on it just got worse with the pacing and more insulting to its audience. It took a great force for me to watch the season finale and the only thing it ended up doing is convincing me to not care about future seasons, which I now don't.

I thought the first season was amazing with no issues on pacing or story. The second season has been terrible in comparison to the first and lost a lot of viewers.
How did you find it insulting to the audience?

That sums it up perfectly. Way too much time spent on dumb shit that could've been resolved in way fewer episodes. I'd forgotten about that long and boring New Orleans stint with Nikki's son and niece, they spent way to much time there. And that Claire and flying boy love was so bad. And Peter did fall ga-ga over that Irish chick super-fast; "I've only known you for 7 minutes but I'm willing to change everything for you", yawn. And having Gabriel pretty much powerless the whole season was a dumb choice.
My only problem with the first season was that I didn't really care for how everything came to in the finale. I guess I was hoping for an awesome battle between Peter and Gabriel, but they pulled a Matrix Revolutions and had the climatic battle fall very short.
I didn't read that article you reference, but am glad that Kring and the other producers realize that they dropped the ball and wasted time. Hopefully they'll really have more action and less build up with the next season.
