I just realized something that is potentially tremendous:
Jack said in the future (in last season's finale) that "go down the hall and if my father is not drunker than I am, you can fire me".
But isn't his father...SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD?
And note: This is not the past, it is the future.
This proves that Jack's father is alive.

Yeah, but he said all this when he was so drunk and hopped up on pills that he couldn't even stand and focus properly. And the doctor he said it to gave him that look like "where the fuck are you". So I doubt Jack's dad was really down the hall, that was just showing how out of it Jack was. |

I don't know - it would fit with his dad being "alive" on the island.
It also was useful as a way to distract people from the fact this was the FUTURE not the past.

man, i like watching this show and everything, but you guys gotta admit it's pretty stupid.
