A few of us talked about it earlier in the thread, guy got arrested, no one on the cast has survived a season after their arrest.

Yeah it makes sense with the arrest etc.

The E channel has never been all that credible of a source, so I'll believe it when I see it. I just don't see how anyone could logically survive that explosion. And on the very remote chance someone would, what the hell are they gonna do, bust out the breast-stroke in the ocean until they finally see land.

Which begs another question, more of a mistake from the directors/writers. Why didnt Sawyer get all sick when he swam back to the island? shouldnt he be travelling on an exact bearing?

I'm guessing he was close enough to the island where all that's irrelevant.

Yeah, like Markulous just said, I think it was because of the close proximity they were to the island when he bailed. Plus when he got to shore, it looked like the same spot Faraday was driving the zodiac to and from, and Juliet was right there in that area with the bottle of booze. So even if the bearing mattered, he was probably on line with it pretty well.

I think we would have needed to see him die more clearly i.e. a close up of his face as he gets all wide-eyed just before the boat blows up, in order to say he was definitely dead.
Hell, I thought Mikhail was definitely dead twice. (What happened to that character this season anyway?)

Instead, the way the viewer was shown what happened, Jin at least had time to jump off the boat.
