But yes, I'm also a big Sawyer fan (my favourites are Sawyer, Locke, and Sayid). We also share the same first name, love of Little House on the Prarie, we've read Ayn Rand, and I would totally tap Kate. So I feel a weird connection to him.

I feel a connection to him because we're both from the south(though I've moved around way too much to pick up the accent), we both had troubled past and childhood, I have a chip on my shoulder but would go out of my way to help someone else, both have a sarcastic humor to us, I make nicknames up for everyone, and of course would love to bang Kate.
But yeah, if he does go down, it'll be because he was trying to help or look out for someone else. His character is one of the ones that's progressed the most thru the series.

I have no idea what those equations mean, either. They go over my head beyond words.
Space-like factors mean "space like loops" of time, I believe.

Definitely. He's shown remarkable growth.
I also love giving the nicknames to people. It used to annoy the piss out of people. Now they either accept it or don't talk to me. LOL

I liked the last episode but man, those scenes in the future are really annoying, I wish someone could edit everything back into chronological order

I could see how the past and future flashbacks can be annoying to some, but I personally like it, it's an interesting texture to the show.
I remember me and some friends have watched both Pulp Fiction and Memento in chronological order before, and neither seemed as cool in that format. The jumping around and cut stories makes everything pretty interesting, at least IMO.

I disagree, I hate it, the flashbacks are kind of boring, but I can deal with that, the future "flashbacks" on the other hand are complete spoilers, I can't stand them. I hate Pulp Fiction too but that's another topic.
Look at Battlestar Gallactica, everything is in chronological order and it works perfectly for me.
That being said I still enjoy Lost a lot.

The first time I saw lost the flashbacks were the interesting part of the show. Each character got developed a little more and secrets were revealed about them. I think Lost is a great show for people who are really into it. For a person who is just casually viewing it it can get really confusing and frustrating. As for the flash forwards, I think its a mark of a good show to tell me that Ben will be alive in the future but I still want to know what happened between him and Keamy and the orchid station.

Same here, the show is already interesting, then you start throwing in the flashbacks and getting to know more of the history and story about each character. I love that. And you see how many of the characters have had their pasts cross with another character, that's just great writing and storytelling. And the flashforwards are awesome, gives you a grasp on what's going on with what character and how it'll all relate back to the story.
But the new or casual viewer is just not going to understand and pick up everything like you said. Case in point, this girl I'm now dating, we've started watching shows together. I'll watch some of her shows with her (which is basically all reality tv crap), and she'll sit down and watch some of my shows with me (Lost, The Office, etc).
And she's just so freaking lost (no pun intended) when we're watching Lost, and I keep telling her you basically have to start at episode 1 and watch them in order to get the full grasp and idea of everything that's going on. It's not a show where you can just go "Hey, I'm going to start watching Lost this week", you're not going to know what the hell is really going on. I appreciate that she's trying to watch it, but I have to explain so much and she still doesn't get it. At this point, she just likes the environment/scenery and watching Sawyer.

Either on abc.com or lostpedia they have a video that isn't that long that summerizes up all the episodes. I can see how it would be confusing as all hell to the casual viewer.
