If that is true why did he get pissed when Locke picked the knife? Why did he not take him to his "school"?
|
Because John is trying to be the Man of Faith instead of the Man of Science. The hunter instead of the peace maker. He is bucking against his destiny. Consider the highschool scene, or his failure in the commune, or really throughout the whole thing UNTIL the island.

Here's a pic of the second protocol that Keamy is looking at. The Dharma logo matches Ben's jacket from the earlier episode

And then here's a copy of the Mystery Tales comic book that Richard put in front of young Locke. The cover kinda hints towards the island

Those two pics gave me chills.
It would seem the Dharma Symbol is a flower. "The Orchid" maybe? Or something?
And hmmm...
Voice of Warning = Ben? Jacob?
The comic book guy looks like Richard.

Locke was supposed to pick the sand IMHO.
The sand was land from the island. When Richard asked Locke what previously belonged to him Locke was supposed to answer with the island (sand). However, he did what he did in high school which is try to be something he is not, so he debated picking the compass, but then picked the knife.
My theory is that Locke is the "second coming" of the true owner of the island. The island was originally controlled by the "first" Locke, and then Charles Widmore and Darma took the island over with their scientific experiments. Then Ben took the island over as well. The island is trying to get itself back to its rightful owner, which is why it brought Locke back to the island. The other survivors all connect the dots between Locke, Darma (widmore), and Ben's group. Jin and Sun's connection is her father. Jack and Claire have their father. Hurley has the numbers.
I think Jack, Hurley and whoever else end up going back to the island are going to figure out a way to teleport after they find out that Ben, Sawyer, and Jin are all teleporting on and off the island, while Locke stays on the island since it is his possession. I am convinced Kate is seeing Sawyer and that is what she can't tell Jack. She doesn't want Jack to know that there is a way to get back to the island, because she knows he will want to go back and save the people he left behind. She is trying to protect his life through keeping him blind from the truth.

The site I got those pics from says that the Dharma symbol is "The Orchid". We've never seen that base/center yet, but I think it has something to do with the teleporting.
And that's probably what Keamy's second protocol pointed to as to where Ben would go to be safe.

I think he was meant to choose THe Book of Laws.
The compass is the Via Domus from the game, I am 99 percent certain. Even if the game has a weird canonical status at this time.

That is one of my guesses. Or maybe on one of the satellite islands not on the island to keep it away and safe.

Man, I so want to find out what the statue is...
I hope it is somewhat connected with that, so we can get some info!
