You ever think that Locke can't remember Richard Alpert because he never visited Locke when he was six . . . the first time around?
Maybe Richard went back in time after he met up with Locke the first time (to us, that would be the commune, I think), to reverse-engineer the man Locke is destined to become?

What's with all the flashbacks(flash forwards?) from the present time on the island to what's presumably the future?
I'm losing interest again fast.
Plus they killed off the cute jailbait that had a fun role on Malcolm in the Middle!!!

Go rent the dvds of the season's you missed. It's not too late to get caught up. This show is too good to miss.

That's a pretty damn interesting theory there.

I read a theory today that the smoke monster appears as a side effect of time travel. Everytime someone on the island time travels they release the smoke monster.
They were guessing a couple of weeks ago when Ben locked himself in his little room he timetraveled to Tunisa and release the smoke monster. He did his work with getting Sayid on board as his henchman then returned to five minutes after he left.
I thought that was a cool idea.

wow, that is a good idea. That may explain what the producers or whatever they are mean when they said that the flashblacks/forwards would soon become irrelevant.

That is interesting but I doubt that if he did time travel that that was the time he went to Tunisia. With everything that was going on around them on the island do you really think that was an appropriate time to handle everything with Said?

Who knows but I liked the idea that time travel triggers the smoke monster.

You ever read WATCHMEN? Dr. Manhattan's section?
There it is posited time does not exist on a line, beginning at one point and ending at the other -- rather, time exists as a prism or a crystal. Constantly built upon itself and perceivable on all facets. Meaning: living at a certain point in your life is only a matter of perception. IT'S ALL REALLY HAPPENING AT ONCE.
Faraday's experiment has broken this barrier, allowing Eloise the rat to exist in another time of her life -- thus, she can perceive, but not travel, "prismatically." When you think about the flashback and -forwards -- are these literary devices intended to tell a story . . . or are these characters ACTUALLY (re)living these sections of their lives?
Moreover, are the characters aware of these instances for what they are?
ONLY A FOOL IS A SLAVE TO TIME AND SPACE.
Clearly Faraday has only scratched the surface of what Dharma is already in full possession of -- as he is only broken time, but not space.
If Alpert, Abaddon, and maybe Ben can actually move through time and space -- it would explain a lot of things.

RE: Watchmen, the Movie
This only serves to remind me on wondering how they are going to find a viable way to explain such complexities in a limited amount of time without either losing the audience or diluting the meaning. That whole section in the book, in its original medium, is a pretty big undertaking when reading it on the page. I can't wait to see how they tackle it on screen.
