LOL Richard Dawkins to be guest on Rick & Bubba
The worst radio show on any station across the USA which appeals to the lowest denominator of society is going to interview Richard Dawkins. LOL. For lucky people who don't know who these clowns are, they run a terrible and horribly bland radio program which strives for "clean humor" to appeal to the easily persuaded run of the mill evangelical republican (not that there's anything wrong with that, but the people who phone in to give their opinions and the opinions of the hosts themselves would get them banned on Free Republic so they don't have liberals using their posts as evidence for them being retarded). Not only that, but they are losing their target audience so you know how bad these fools are. If I remember right, they are not in Atlanta anymore so I have had the pleasure of not temporarily listening to them while turning the channels on my radio (I could be wrong though, and if I am please tell me because I would like to listen to this). Many old school radio listeners in the Birmingham area would remember they pretty much replaced Mark and Brian when they left, so they have a sizable group of haters.
Here is their website: http://www.rickandbubba.com/ . Nearly every day they talk about how America is going down the tubes because we are becoming immoral and not following God orders and electing "liberals" to power and that the "prayer warriors" should pray to save the country. I remember when they were still on here one of the co hosts (never got to know who was who) asked the other one if he would like to be president but he responded no because of how "dumb congress is and the things they say about bush i would probably flip my switch".
Nobody here will probably care, but if you have ever listened to these two you would be laughing as hard as I to see how they will respond to Dawkins and vice versa.

Im quite interested to hear that from your description. Dawkins is a good talker, even though I find him humiliatingly ignorant of some of the subject matters he talks about, he is able for the bullying tactics used by the stype of people you are describing ie. Republican evangelical Christians in the US. Bill O'Reilly tried the neo-con lines on him and he was made look like a fool.
Alas, so many leanred people want to have a conversation like this on air with Dawkins just to show people how bad his arguments regarding theology are, and he turns them all down, choosing instead to go after these sorts who have no chance of putting up a decent case. Bully tactics, only fight when there is no oposition.

Well, Rick and Bubba are no Alistar McGraths', that's for sure. Pretty much every stereotype you can have about Americans, Rick and Bubba fit that 10 fold. I really can't believe they are going to put him on their show to be honest.

This makes me cringe, hes gonna come off sounding like a genius and that his views are watertight, and that there is no possible room for question, and I can imagine the interviewers using every old platitude known to man which Dawkins will of course have prepared answers for,
Alistair McGrath has since asked him for a formal debate since the Root Of All Evil show and Dawkins wont have it. I would love to ask him flat out why he does this.

THIs is a no-win situation for Dawkins. Sounds like his audience will not be receptive to logic, philosophy, etc.

I think Christopher Hitchens will be debating McGrath sometime soon. Should be fun.

This whole debate has grown tiresome. If someone desperately needs to believe something they will not listen to reason and logic. Dawkins strength is in scientific debate and I don't believe Rick & Bubba have the scientific background to counter any of his arguments. This is how it will play out:
Dawkins: There is absolutely no evidence that God exists and the mere notion of a creator is implausible.
Rick & Bubba: Well I believe God exists and you can't prove to me he doesn't.

I am a great admirer Christopher Hitchens very much so and I enjoyed his recent book, but he comes at religion in a very different way than what Alister McGrath does. I have a feeling McGrath may wipe the floor with Hitchens if that is true. He is the man who can save religion in my view.
