So lastnight in light of all that's gone on recently I wanted to get a playstation 3. I went with the fiance and bought it. I got the 40 Gig with a remote and the spiderman movie for $440 or so. I also bought COD4 and some singing game for her. Now I've got a few questions.

Do playstation 2 games work on playstation 3?

The singing game says we can download more songs for play, do I have to pay for those?

I plan on getting GTA and MGS4 is heavenly sword worth it (Fiance liked the way it looked)

I haven't bought a system since PS2 so I'm out of the loop.

1) Your version of the PS3 does NOT support PS2 games. Sorry

2) HEavenly Sword is a very good polished game. It's very short, about 7 or 8 hours, but it's a very good 7-8 hours. If you don't mind having a very good short game, then I would definitely recommend it.

3) You have to pay for extra content, like songs, on games. They're usually like $1-$2 each....or they'll have a pack of songs for like $7.

Damn that sucks. Were the earlier versions of PS3 able to support the PS 2 games?

The recently released 80 Gb has backwards compatability as well as the older 60 Gb.

Maybe I should bring it back then and get an 80 or 60 then. I'd like to get the cheaper PS2 games and be able to play them on the PS 3.

Also can you blu ray player play normal DVD's as well?

Like he said , short game...but once ou get used to the gameplay (it's far from being a button mash fest...you won't enjoy it if you only try to use this technic..but if you learn the combos & special hits then you'll really have a lot of fun)...

Thanks man. I plan on going to FYE and picking them up used as they only cost 24.99. If they don't work you can bring them back so sounds like a viable solution to getting games on the cheap.

Yes it plays Dvds, if you go into the settings of your PS3 you can set it to upscale them and they look a lot better, still nothing like Blu Ray but definitley improved

I have a 60 gb and it plays my old ps2 games, I recommend getting atleast the 60

I have Heavenly Sword as welll and I think its a pretty fun game, also Assassin's Creed is really fun
