Its a great film, I dont think a film should be judged on how good it makes you feel, thats what nonsense blockbusters and waste of time romcoms are for, important and artistic films like this are beyond that.

It was well done, but I would never watch it again. Once is enough for me, but I'm not a fan of serious movies.

Vegas is shown in its true light here too in this film
It showed an aspect of Vegas that you don't see much, but that is its "true light"? All cities have a seedy side.

Not a fan of serious movies? Why not if you dont mind me asking? Is it that movies are something you relax with and dont want to have to work to enjoy it or analyse it? Thats quite common, its understandable. I watch episodes of the A-Team to unwind and flake out, when I watch a film though I usually want something mentally stimulating.

Vegas is a desperate place in my opinion. Ive been there, even the glamour has a desperation to it, its just more subtle than the horrible parts of it. Its just materialism and hedonism galore, and nothing else really.

I lived in Vegas for a year, and it's not that desperate or seedy. But if that's what you're on the look out for that's what you'll find. It's really hot in the summer.

If I want to think, I read. Movies are pirmarily a nescape from reality thing for me. In general, I don't watch many movies.

I understand what you are saying about Vegas, but your comment is way too much of a generalization. Vegas has over a million people living there, and is one of the fastest grwoing areas in the US. Many people there are leading relatively "normal" lives.

I probably should have specified that the famous area of Vegas on the strip and the surrounding entertainment venues are like that, I know there are lots and lots of normal places there too, I didnt mean it to sound like a generalisation.

They're just really hotels with casinos attached. I wouldn't categorize all the people staying in those hotels as desperate. They're people on vacation or in for a convention for whatever industry they work for. The areas as you travel to the north of the strip is where there are a lot of bums it gets dirtier looking.
