law question

i just turned 18 years old and im beef'n with a kid whos 17. so far this kid just disgusts me, he never worked for an thing in his (no job no driving temp [i still have my temps but im try'n] he got his hot ass girl friend by going behind a friends back and using fear to get what he wants) and he talks way to much shit.

now that we got the background out of the ways heres my question. if he comes on my property challenging me and i go to hit do i get sued?

So this kid who has a hot girlfriend talks shit to you, and you think he's going to come to your house so you can hit him. And you worried about the legality of hitting him first?
I want to make sure its clear what your asking. Its not that your worried about going to jail for assault, you think he might sue you?

I'm just wondering why he would be worried about being sued. Is the other kid a pretty boy model and he'll lose income cause the beating that would ensue?
