LASIK Post-Op Experiences

Well, the wife had LASIK surgery today. She's recuperating as I write this. Got to watch the whole thing go down. Trippy.

At any rate, any of you beneficiaries of the LASIK procedure? If so, what were the first day or two after your surgery like? Just wondering what my wife will have to look forward to in the coming days.

I had it. First maybe.....5 or 6 hours my eyes itched badly. After that no problems.

I travelled to get it done and was staying in a hotel. I remember waking up the next day and walking to the window and being able to see everything down below clearly for the first time in years. It was great stuff.

It's been 5 years and all is well.

I've heard mostly good things about it however, my cousin is going blind after getting it done. I dont know the specifics about where and when she got it done but eventually she will be completely blind.

My wife went with the CustomVue option at Wellish Vision. The doctor is quite renowned and came recommended by a friend, so I'm pretty confident that the end result will be excellent.

Cost was just a click shy of $5K (annual bonus ftw).

She was able to see fairly clearly immediately after the procedure, but the ride home was pretty uncomfortable for her. Although she does have a rather low pain threshold, and she doesn't deal well with discomfort.

Doc said she stands a good chance of seeing 20/20 or better by morning.

I had the surgery done in June and played football in the fall.

No striking since well before the surgery though, so not sure on that one.
