This. Macs is general have horrible support from the gaming industry. I read an article about macs make less then 1% of the computer market so I assume the support for them isn't great

i'd lean towards a windows laptop because they offer more bang for the buck. you can get a great windows laptop for under $1000--look at fry's weekly ads for sales if there's one in your area.

if you're dead set on a mac, then try their online education store if you're a student. you'll get 10% off the retail price and a free ipod after rebates. i just ordered a mac book pro and there was an additional 10% off for some promotion (they're probably going to release a new mac book pro in a few months so they want to get rid of the old inventory).

oh yeah, if you travel a lot for work, try to get a 13" or 14" laptop. 6-7 lbs may not seem like much, but it's a pita with constant travel.

love my mac

I have a Windows XP desktop and a 13" white Macbook. I gotta say I love my Mac. I've had Windows since 1995 and prefer my Macbook now. I don't do too many demanding things on mine so for me it is more about the OS experience than the specs. Everything is integrated so well on the Macbook too.

It's pretty obvious that if you're planning to play games on your computer, it would be retarded to buy a Mac for it. That said, the guy said he's mainly a console gamer, so why people keep bringing up this argument baffles me.
