At least half the games I play are NOT compatible with Mac. The new Warhammer Online MMORPG slated for October also has no plans on being Mac compatible. I won't keep thinking that, i'll keep knowing that. Thanks though.

I recently got the 2.4 GHZ MacBook and I love it.

I switched from a Gateway Laptop and I'll never go back to PCs.

Thanks for all of the replies so far. I'm about 50/50 right now, I know I would like the OS much more on the Apple, but I get a lot more for my money on the PC. When I said "graphic design and programming" I meant basically familiarizing myself. Its not something I will go into professionally, but I would like to understand programmers I work with are saying.

As far as gaming goes, I do most of mine on consoles so I'm not really too worried about that.

Also, portibility is not a huge concern, b/c I have another computer for that. This would only be mobile around the apartment and to the coffee shop maybe. This is basically going to be a mobile desktop for my apartment.

A couple of questions

1.) How big of a deal is the difference in processor speeds (1.83 to 2.4) and is that difference made up by the better graphics card and RAM in the Acer?

2.) Would I have compatiblity issues with my 3,000 or so "legally" downloaded songs and videos I have on my current PC? What about issues streaming them to an XBox 360.

Don't buy a mac if you play video games.

I only use MAC's.

The mac book you have linked is the one I own.

Dont add office. Add Iwork. Its cheaper and works with office. Its great.

Toshiba FTW..nice laptops, no problems yet.

I had an HP laptop: battery melt, replaced.
Motherboard was shot, lost two harddrives, 4 weeks, and 8 hours at fking best buy.

6 other friends have had problems with HP.

Despite their awesome and apparently successful marketing campaign, they suck.

In real life I've only met one person who has a Mac and doesn't like it. Windows on the other hand...

Macs do cost more though and I'm very cheap.
