I've been looking for a couple of months now and so far the best computer that I found for the money has been a Gateway.

If don't mind spending more, get an Apple product as you won't have to worry about viruses. I won't get one because I hate the operating system and I find myself downloading Firefox onto the thing becasue Safari is by far the worst web browser. I have had more trouble viewing parts of websites with Safari than any other browser. I also like the compatability of a PC with my work computer and desktop

Don't listen to the age-old garbage about "if you aren't using it for graphic design, get a PC" or "it has almost none of the Windows applications/similar applications". Go with a Mac and feel the gift of using a computer that rarely, if ever, suffers software failure.

Im after good bang for my buck. I want a laptop that will play all current games and some future games but it doesnt have to be bleeding edge (no crysis)

I havent got a set price on what im willing to spend because i dont honestly know what sort of price i need for a good laptop these days. Important thing is it has a good enough graphics card to play games well (512mb GPU atleast im thinking)

Welcome any advice or potential models for me to consider purchasing.
I have a Dell XPS M1330 (13.3 inch model, they also come in 15 and 17 inch).

I recommend them over ANY other laptop. Superb mix of performance and price.

I paid under 800 for mine.

You can usually find some sort of coupon/deal and get around 500 dollars off as well.

My specs are:
2.4ghz core duo
4gb ram
500gb hd

I have a Mac book pro and will never go back to a windows pc. If I need to run windows I can in bootcamp on my Mac as I have Xp installed on it I can't stand Vista. I have had my Mac for over 2 years with no problems so far and I don't even have an anti virus on it. The service with apple is also great they give free tutorials on the OS and programs on it at the Apple store you just need to go in which if you have never used a Mac I recommend because a Mac runs completely different. Microsoft also created a Office suite for Mac.

Ive got an Acer aspire 5950 and it can play any games I need and has a great vid card, ram, and decent processor. Price was decent too. Macs are retarded and aren't compatible with anything fun.
