Robin hood and dances with wolfs are my personal favorites, just saw the guardian the other day and i thought it was average.I have to agree that his 90's movies were the best.

He is under-rated.

Very good to great movies
Silverado
The Untouchables
No Way Out
Bull Durham
Field of Dreams
Dances With Wolves
Open Range
Perfect World

That 8 movies. I actually like Waterworld and The Postman but they are a little hard to judge. Oddly enough they failed miserably but most people I know who seen them liked them. The Bodyguard, The Guardian, Robin Hood weren't too bad either.

Actually given the majority of pretty boy underwear model leading men that we have to sit through in this generation. I miss Kevin Costner.

Costner was originally cast as the lead in Air Force One, but The Postman was taking too long for him in post-production that he gave the role to his friend Harrison Ford. I predict if he had done Air Force One, and had let someone else edit The Postman his career would have been great. The Postman has a good movie somewhere inside of it, just like Waterworld did, Costner just will not cut any film out of his movies. Dances with Wolves was the best but also worst thing that ever happened to him. After that movie he figured he could get away with 3 hour movies every time.
He was also offered the role of Bill in Kill Bill but turned it down to finish Open Range.
