Agreed. It's like a bunch of flat earthers talking about the flatness of the earth. A folie à plusieurs, many deluded jerks.

So are you planning on just trumpeting the same stuff that's already been said? I mean, we know the story by now. What else is there for you to add to it?

if you have another topic you'd like to discuss you can create your own thread regarding such.
this thread shouldnt get mixed into the puke of the "merged religious debate" thread.

Yep. Then one flat earther says to the other "You know, that is a great idea you have. It must be correct! Everybody! Flat earther 1 here has cracked it! Write it in your journals!".
One evolutionist says to the other "Here's some evidence and an experiment that I myself conducted. And if you view my findings from a certain perspective, you will see that they agree with what we already believe".
Reply "Well done fellow evolutionist. As that clearly agrees with us and what we already think we know, we will accept what you have shown us as only being able to be viewed from our perspective. And anybody that dares to view it differently will be called stupid".
Mens, your analogy is spot on. Probably not in the way you intended though.

yeahhhhh... so if me and you agree that fish swim, it doesnt mean anything because we are just reinforcing each others beliefs....
the point is, when uninformed people agree on something - their opinion holds no value.
when educated, knowledgeable, people agree on what evidence presents - their opinions are reinforced by facts and evidence, and thus have value.
scientists know what they know through observation, analysis, the scientific method etc.
creationists believe what they believe because of an old book about a supernatural character.
you're a sad little man if you choose to ignore the difference.

And the only problem for you, or the other "deluded jerks" to which I refer, is that the evidence and almost every study on the subbject agrees fits an old earth. Dozens of independent fields of science come to the same conclusion. My position is based on observations and established science while the other, your position, is based on debunked mythology. You flat earthers are pathetic really. Why don't you get with the program?

Terrible comparison.

To themselves. And based on their preconcieved assumptions and beliefs.

Again, you missed out the word "assumptions" and also "estimates based on assumptions". And the old favourite "circular reasoning".

Again, you assume too much.

Sorry did I miss something?
"Flat earthers?".
Anyway, your evidence is made to fit what you want. It can also be made to fit other ways. It depends only on how you interpret the evidence.
Years ago, people seemed to assume that because the T Rex and Raptors had sharp teeth and the Raptors had the big claw on their foot, that they must have been meat eaters. Someone else then came along and said that these features could easily be interpreted as the dinosaurs actually being herbivores and gave a whole new explanation to how the features would have been used.
Like I said, it depends on how something is interpreted.

Sniffkin- do you understand that science is a free market where innovations are rewarded?
.1% of US biologists at the PhD level reject evolution. 99.9% see evolution as fact. The .1% who reject it expressly state that they interpret things with great bias, a christian biblical bias. The 99.9% who accept it, while many are in fact christian, interpret the data rather objectively. It's not the 99.9% who are biased, it's the .1%. If there was any evidence for the .1% then things would radically change. Understand that science is not a conspiracy theory. If the .1% position were really true, it would be undeniable to the rest. It would spread like wild-fire. The 99.9% would be helpless but to accept it.
It's not assumtions based on assumptions. It is individuals figuring it out for themselves. Geologists, physicists, biologists, et cetera all independently come to the conclusion, after their own research, that the earth is old. It's not even a question for anyone other than the deluded, confued fundamentalist christians like yourself. It's like a conspiracy theory. Everybody but you people can see what's happening and everyone but you thinks you look really stupid.
