here's an analogy, there are propositions... supposedly where your tax dollars in the billions are going right? now we vote for whichever now that would, in theory, tell us where it is going.

i'm just saying there isn't much accounting involved... i would like to know how much is being collected and exactly where and when its being used.

Here are some questions: Why is the Gov. messing with religion and Church ministries? Why the Hovind witch hunt? I thought the State and the Church were seperated?

Bottom line is that Hovind took a stand that most ppl are to chicken to take. He decided not to become a "corperate" ministry, or 501C3. There is no law saying that a Church or ministry of the Church has to be 501C3. Look that up in the tax code. Why would the Church ask the Government for permission to be what it already is? It (501C3) is a way for the Government to regulate Churches, which it has no buisness doing. It also gives the Church benefits that it already has. The Government then can tell Churches what to do concerning politics, and regulatory compliance. There was a Baptist preacher named John Bunyan in England who was in and out of prison for taking a stand against tyranny. He refused to take a licence to preach the gospel. What non believers don't understand and proly never will is that we answer to Jesus Christ above all. If he tells us we can do something (like preach) than we don't need to ask permission from anyone. Paul the Apostle was in jail alot, and alot of Christians have died making a stand on their beliefs. I commend Dr. Hovind. He might be in jail, but he has the guts to fight for his rights, and beliefs. Do you?
By the way while in prison John Bunyon wrote "Pilgrims Progress" the second best selling book of all time next to the King James Bible (AV). The Apostle Paul wrote many books of the New Testement while in jail. All is not lost for Hovind. You will see.

I don't know shit about law and tax and that's why I don't comment on it. But that bit about the geologic column would be all that much better if you could answer.

Oh, and "In the textbooks" is not a good enough answer.

It's taxation without representation. Our system has become corrupt. It is pointless to resist though, and it's only going to get worse.

the hovind witch hunt?

it wasnt a witch hunt, the mother fucker didnt pay over $500,000 in taxes, purposefully. and hovinds "church" was DINO ADVENTURE LAND... some 'church' lol.

educate yourself on the facts of the trial and you'll see that this man was simply a crook, even his employees testified saying they didnt feel they worked for a church(which wouldnt matter anyways) - and a christian lawyer who's part of a law firm which gives legal aid to churches around the nation testified as to how hovind told him he had "found a way to beat the tax system." a local christian school wouldnt allow their students to work for hovind because they disagreed with what he was doing.

this wasnt an attack on religion, this was properly dealing with a god damn crook.

You ask where on earth the entire geological column is?
I show you a map of the earth with locations of the entire geological column.

For all I know, anybody could have drawn that map.

(Talkorigins by any chance?)

What does all this mean?

First, as I have noted before, the concept quite prevalent among some Christians that the geologic column does not exist is quite wrong. Morris and Parker (1987, p. 163) write:
Now, the geologic column is an idea, not an actual series of rock layers. Nowhere do we find the complete sequence.
They are wrong. You just saw the whole column piled up in one place where one oil well can drill through it. Not only that, the entire geologic column is found in 25 other basins around the world, piled up in proper order. These basins are:

The Ghadames Basin in Libya
The Beni Mellal Basin in Morrocco
The Tunisian Basin in Tunisia
The Oman Interior Basin in Oman
The Western Desert Basin in Egypt
The Adana Basin in Turkey
The Iskenderun Basin in Turkey
The Moesian Platform in Bulgaria
The Carpathian Basin in Poland
The Baltic Basin in the USSR
The Yeniseiy-Khatanga Basin in the USSR
The Farah Basin in Afghanistan
The Helmand Basin in Afghanistan
The Yazd-Kerman-Tabas Basin in Iran
The Manhai-Subei Basin in China
The Jiuxi Basin China
The Tung t'in - Yuan Shui Basin China
The Tarim Basin China
The Szechwan Basin China
The Yukon-Porcupine Province Alaska
The Williston Basin in North Dakota
The Tampico Embayment Mexico
The Bogata Basin Colombia
The Bonaparte Basin, Australia
The Beaufort Sea Basin/McKenzie River Delta

Now can we stay on topic with Kent Hovind being in jail?? This geology talk is ruining my schadenfreude.
