Job Advice?

I was offered a job but I'm having a really hard time deciding what to do. The job is in a field that really interests me but the starting salary is less then what I make now by 5 thousand and I would have to relocate to a more remote area where there is next to no rental property and what is available is rediculously expensive. Also, I have a girlfriend who can't move as she is still finishing her degree and I got a feeling that me moving would definately strain our relationship. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to turn it down but I'd appreciate any advice or opinions....

If it's financially unfeasible, then it's financially unfeasible.

Do more research.

Do what feels right. Go with your instincts. That is what I would do.

Its not that its totally unfeasible, I just think that moving to a shit hole, away from my spouse to take a job for less money seems kinda dumb. Regardless of whether I'd like the job or not

There's your answer, then.

What are the chances of advancing in that new job? chances of a pay raise in the future?

If I were your spuse I would rather you had a job you were happy with and a job that was rewarding then hating your job and becoming like our fathers

Jobs are like women.....many out there. Pay scale used to be my motivating factor, but I now am interested in working less. Different goals and motivations for different people, but it sounds like you've made up your mind already.

How is the future in that area of work?

If you have to take a paycut now in order to secure a huge pay raise in the future...
