I agree. I posted this earlier in the thread and got no response:
"You have to cut and paste vague verses from a half dozen different books. A stronger prophecy would have laid it all out over a couple consecutive paragraphs in one book - why doesn't the bible include this?"

Agreed. My interests are with the metaphors within the god-men stories. That video touches on a bit of research I did linking many of the stories to astrology. Fo example the three days that it took for Jesus (and the other God-men) to arise from thier various 3 day journeys (Jesus passed to the afterlife, Buddha meditated and found enlightenment etc) happen at the only time of the year the sun stays at the same level in the sky (at its highest point) for three days. I am sure many of the metaphors do not apply soley to astronomy and astrology but it appears many do

If you teach religion then you should be able to see the holes for yourself. Since you don't admit to the obvious problems, I will tell you, it seems you would rather suppress the truth in unrighteousness. When each of those similarities is brought under scrutiny, they all fail at one point or another. Anyone who searches out this matter, to find the truth, will see just how absurd most of these claims are. All of these things have been disproved, or at least cast enough doubt, rendering them very difficult if not impossible to use in an argument that has any amount of credibility. The websites and books that promulgate this propaganda do so in the face of unavoidable evidence that proves their dishonesty. These charlatans rely on peoples ignorance of the subject to perpetuate the attack on Christianity. Those who are not without knowledge on the subject, and still buy into it, do so because it substantiates what they already want to believe. Either that or they are just liars.

I have checked the age of the Old Testament, as have countless historians and scholars. The bible is the most researched and scrutinized text ever written. I'm quite sure this matter has been carefully and extensively looked into.

Surely I can say that. Please explain why His name would need to be mentioned in the OT to say the prophecies were written concerning Him. The person who came and fulfilled the prophecies, which this Jesus did, is the person that was being talked about all along. The name didn't matter. Get it?

^^^ Could you please take some time to actually present your argument in a scientific manner? What areas of the ideas presented have been disproven and by who? It stands to reason that the reminants of many other religions that pre-date christianity share these similarities I have posted. This is simply fact. But I am open to consider your EVIDENCE. Please present something **getting annoyed**

You listed 200 items about 10 different gods in your original post and you want me to refute them all? I don't think you realize what you are asking of me. I asked you for evidence and you gave me none, but now you are requiring it of me? You must first prove that every one of those similarities actually exist in literature, then prove they were translated properly, and after that it must be proven that the similarities actually existed prior to the life of Jesus and the New Testament; not just additons to altered texts in which the similarities were interpolated. Without that evidence you just have bold claims, half-truths, whole lies, and a bunch of speculation.

You could have taken ONE example and disected it accordingly but no matter, I understand where you are coming from. I will endeaver to pick one example at a time and work here with you in this thread.
