He was an okay actor. He wasn't Gregory Peck with his dialogue, but he was a very good non-verbal actor. Not on McQueen's level (best non-verbal actor in screen history) but he could convey a lot with his eyes (insert picture of him standing on Bob Wall's neck

).
Seriously, though, I'm not going to sit here and try to pretend that Bruce was among the acting greats because he wasn't, and in terms of filmmaking, he was a much better director than he was an actor; however, I wouldn't go so far as to say he couldn't act.

I don't like Jackie Chan, so anything he's in automatically loses points in my book (save for
Rumble in the Bronx).
I'd have to watch that particular film again because right now I probably couldn't even describe three full scenes.
I've watched several of his films and never been a fan. That's all I can say.

That was more of a joke as opposed to literally saying that he's unintelligible. He is a horrendous speaker though and that really hurts his acting, especially if he has to deliver real serious lines or real funny punchlines.

Who are you? Quentin Tarantino?
Sonny Chiba's street fighter character is one of the most ludicrous, over-the-top characters I've seen in modern martial arts films. He's got great charisma, but that's as far as I'd go.

Everyone is welcome to their opinions and I'm certainly not going to tell you yours is "wrong," but I disagree vehemently. His "fight" scenes aren't fight scenes but rather elaborately choreographed acrobatics and his movies are dumb.

Look up some of my post history. You don't need to explain to me the genesis of Jackie Chan's career (or anybody's career if they're affiliated with film). I know all about Jackie Chan's rise out of the shadows of the multitude of Bruce Lee wannabe's and I think it's great that he was able to find success by taking martial arts the Peking route as opposed to the Bruce Lee route.
That said, I don't like him and I don't enjoy his films.

No. That's what

I know what his intentions are. I just don't enjoy his style of martial arts/action. When I watch a martial arts film, I want to see martial arts, not him rolling around on furniture with some punches and kicks thrown in for good measure.

I'll say it again: I respect him as a stunt man, I don't respect him in the least as an actor, and I think he's overrated as a martial arts/action star.
