Introduce me to Jazz

Introduce me to Jazz

I feel that Jazz is the final frontier for me to break when it comes to music. I started my life as an avid headbanger and branched out from ****llica/Iron MAiden to the great 60/70ths rock bands and then to other music from that era

Nowadays I even listen to some rap/hiphop but Jazz hasn't yet got me. Give me 3 artists/albums that I must listen to. What are considerd the highlights of Jazz?

Preferably with links to samples

Three seminal, popular, and accessible albums are...

Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Dave Brubeck - Time Out
Lenny Breau - Five O'Clock Bells/Mo' Breau(They've combined them into one album)

While not necessarily my favorites, If I had to show Jazz to somebody who had never heard it, it would be something along the lines of these three. You can find the first two on torrents I'm sure. If you, uh, spy hard enough. The last one you'll probably have to order, but I promise you it's awesome.

Well, jazz is not the final frontier, believe me it will be the start.

First you must realise that are tons of different jazz.

Nude Ants by Keith Jarret

Young Django By Stephane Grappelli

San Francisco Nights by John McLaughlin, Al DeMeola and Paco de Lucia
