Interesting Pet Ideas?

So I was looking around back at my mom's house and was reminded I have an old empty fish tank. I'm debating what to do with it. Any cool ideas for a pet. Something original yet not too high of maintenance? Any cool stories of interesting pets people had?

Don't get a tortoise. Mine ran away and his replacement died the first week.

I recently just bought a leopard gecko. They are cheap, low maintinence and can be handled. They become very pretty and unique looking. Here's a pic of mine
(It's a hatchling)

This is what they look like as adults

Just an idea. Otherwise depending on the size of the tank I'd recommend a snake. Also very low maintinence and pretty.
