This is the truth that many people, mostly hot headed highway patrol, don't get. When is the death of an innocent person worth catching a crook?

What if that innocent person was someone you cared about?

From what I know of the police (can only really speak about the UK police in this case), most police are very careful, not engaging the car they are pursuing until there is a reasonable level of safety to other road users to do so. Some accidents are inevitable though, sometimes they have to try stop a car then and there, and it's a sad fact of life that eventually some innocent people will get caught up in it. Generally it doesn't happen too often here.

Why should he be charged with murder? This was not murder, at the most it was manslaughter.

probably falls more under vehicular manslaughter than murder.

But tack on wreckless driving, endangering the lives of others, resisting arrest, police chase, speeding, probably a bunch of left/right turns, signals, stop signs/lights...on top of what they were originally chasing him for = badtimes for that dude.

they're gonna throw the book, desk, gavel, attorneys, jury, bagels, everything....at this guy. Unless he says he's crazy or something

I know that, what I meant was, there's been a few cases, a drunk driver killing someone, car thief killing someone, and I think they got no more than 2 years in jail
