I'm torn between a PSP and DS, help me out

I used to own a DS when it first came out. I liked it, but there was a serious lack of quality titles for it, so I sold it. As time went by, I ended up needing a travel device, so I spent a little money on a GBA SP just to play FF tactics advance on. I later sold that as well.

I find myself with a lot of downtime at my new job, and I need something I can play for 5-30 minute periods while I'm on break or waiting for my shift to start. At first, I thought it would be a no-brainer since I like the DS a lot as a system, and it's only $130. But when I compared the games on gamerankings.com, it seems like the PSP has a lot more that I enjoy. However, it will be much more expensive.

Here are my plans and concerns.

NINTENDO DS

Games: Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Legend of Zelda: the Phantom Hourglass, New SMB, Meteos, FF tactics advance

Needed: Carrying case

Approx cost after a few games and accessories: $200-300

Concerns: Not as many play and go games that I'm interested in, too much kiddy stuff that isn't challenging

PSP

Games: God of War: Chains of Olypmus, Patapon, Lumines, FF tactics: War of the Lions, GTA: Liberty City stories, LocoRoco.

Needed: Carrying case, memory stick, usb cable.

Approx cost after a few games and accesories: $300-$350

Concerns: They're expensive, it's made by Sony and I'm worried it will break, future of the system not looking too bright

Help me out here, guys. If you've owned both, let me know your opinion. I've never owned a PSP before, so advice concerning that is especially appreciated. Let me also say that ALL I AM CONCERNED WITH IS GAMES. UMD movies and mp3s mean little to nothing to me.

If you get a DS, get the M3 Simply so you don't have to EVER buy games. If you get a PSP, flash it so you can just dump ISO's into your memory card.

NEVER pay for portable games. Personally, I like the PSP a lot better. Better selection of grown up games and better graphics.

I have a DS, if you like Nintendo titles then this is the obvious choice. The Stylus can make or break the game though.

If you're into more mature games, the PSP is probably a better way to go.

Easy, you want a DS, sure its not as "flashy" as the PSP and doesn't have quite as good graphics but it has huge library of great and unqiue games.

PSP is basically a portable PS2, nothing very unique about it. PSP offers a lot more in terms of media: movies, music, photos. But as far as good games go you want the DS. I have to friends who have both, and they both admit to using there DS much more.

I had one of these it was called DS-X. Basically its just a normal looking DS card with a USB connection at the top. You download roms from the net and drag and drop them to the card and then yu can play them on your DS just like a regular game. I'd be wary though,my DS-X broke after a couple months. Oh yeah, and its also stealing and its illegal...(unless you already own the game )

If you like games like Mario and what not then go with DS. If you like sports games and shooting games then go with PSP.
