I have to submit a research proposal for a master thesis (Chinese) and I need some ideas. The topic could be pretty much anything associated with the Chinese language. I would like to do something different, maybe something fun, but I just have a bunch of boring topics floating around in my head. Help me out yo!
Sorry bro, I really don't know shit about Chinese. I know China has some great classical literature. Maybe you should write about how the author uses Chinese language to convey their ideas in these literatures? Or what cognitive effects does learning Chinese have on our brain cause I know that learning how to write those symbols required lots of memorization and stuff.

Lol. You made me remember some research findings on dyslexia in Chinese vs English. The cause varies between languages. Americans with reading disabilities have different brain abnormalities than their Chinese counterparts. I think this is interesting, but it's outside my area of expertise.
What about something about deaf kids learning how to read Chinese, it must be easier than English.

Since about 500 B.C., the Chinese has been learning Chinese words (symbols) with a rigorous memorization method. Every Chinese word/symbol was treated as an individual character and must be memorized as a whole without any association from other words. That is, for a few thousand years, the Chinese people themselves did not take the advantage of a word root language system, like languages in the Western hemisphere for example. For a few thousand years, the Chinese themselves did not know the concept of word root system while the Chinese words are formed by a word root system. This fact could be a great surprise to everyone. Yet, it can be resolved in two ways:
Firstly, show and demonstrate that Chinese word system is, in fact, a word root system. Secondly, show the reason of why it came to this way.

You mean how characters have individual character components that have their own meaning? That's not quite the same as root words in English and seems pretty boring to me. I think most people already have a good idea about it anyway. I want to do something new and cool. Maybe like English loan words in Chinese gaming or something about Chinese gold farmers. I want something cool that people would actually be very interested in reading.
