I had a FML moment, am I overreacting?
I was at the gym for 3 and a half hours. Prior to leaving my neighbor left her keys in her door so I informed her of this. I get back I shower and go to take garbage out, in my infinite wisdom I locked my door (yes locked out of apartment that is on the 2nd floor but has a walkable roof if I can get up to it). So I'm like hmm what to do, I knocked on everyone elses door who I know in the complex no one has a ladder, the neighbor with the keys wasn't home but she has access to the walkable roof and one of my windows on that doesn't have a screen, SCORE I'll wait till she gets home she'll let me use her window to get to the roof.
Well she gets home and tells me no. Instead she wants me to call our landlord (she assumed I had my phone its like dude I'm sitting here in moccasins sweatpants and sweatshirt what do you think) who will charge me to open the door and lives a fair distance away (like 30 mins?). Pissed me off, her reasoning she doesn't want to pop the screens out, like dude you can put them back in HELLO?
So I say phug it and start walking to Valpo PD they've gotta have a ladder right? Well on my way I notice a house that is very clearly getting remodeled and it has lights on and doors open, this is going to be nice they gotta have a ladder right? And they do and they let me use it, I get back into my apartment and am still just utterly pissed that the neighbor would do something like that. It'd be one thing if we didn't know each other but we're the same class of law school and have multiple classes together WTF

it would have been nice of her to help you out, but i can understand her not wanting a guy she doesn't really know come into her house to ninja through her window and jump onto the roof.

maybe she knows you as the guy she sees from time to time in law class with random cuts and bruises on his face and got freaked out? sure it makes perfect sense from your end, but looking at it from her side at the very least it's understandable why she wouldn't let you in. u hear shit on the news everyday about random people raping and murdering each other, and girls freak out over everything.
