I agree with the sentiment that if she wants a break after only 2 months, it might not be good to continue. Like someone said previously, on/off relationships NEVER work. While it's true that maybe you should've stayed at an awkward party for her sake, she still shouldn't have flipped her lid because you wanted to go. If she wants a break NOW, she's clearly too over-emotional and doesn't know how to handle ya'll's relationship. End it before you get hurt by it (i.e. find out she's cheating, etc.).

And for future reference, I've been in plenty of awkward situations where I knew NO ONE at a party except for the person who invited me. It sucked, but you can't just quit and leave. It is her friends after all, you're gonna have to meet them and hang out with them sometimes, right? I know it's awkward being the lone sober one in a room full of drunks but you gotta be outgoing and have some fun out of it. Interact with them, you'll notice that people are MUCH friendlier to strangers when they are drunk as opposed to sober.

If not for your sake, do it for your girl's sake.

Your girlfriend realizes that youre not right for her(which your clearly arent). The reason she wants you to leave her alone for a bit instead of breaking the whole thing off is because she likes the idea of having a depandable guy like you around any time she needs you.

My advice.. get on one of many dating sites and find a woman who shares your interests and values.

I would agree that it doesn't look good for the TS. Refuse to take a break, tell her to get in or get out.

I can see why some people in this thread are saying that you should've tried harder to mingle with her friends but at the same time you shouldn't have to change who you are to fit her. I fucking hate parties and I hate being in a room full of people I don't know. Its not something I've ever been comfortable with and I probably never will be. And thats ok with me, its just one of my personality quirks. Often with ex's I would encourage them to go to those types of functions without me, hoping they have a good time. I wouldn't ruin their night by asking them not to go so they shouldn't ruin mine by asking me to spend my evening with a bunch of people I can't stand talking about shit I don't care about.

Find someone you're more suited for. She can fuck off and find another lapdog she can showcase at parties.
