How Do I get money for college
Right now I'm a student at a junior college, looking to transfer in less than a year. I've had to pay my way through college (with my parents help) and every program I try to apply for It doesn't look like I qualify. Then I hear every single one of my friends get all their fees waived because their mom didn't go to college or their parents are divorced or some other shit. They dont seem to me that much worst off than me but the government thinks they are.
So how do I get the government to pay for my college if...:
*My parents combined salary is over $100,000 a year
*My parents are college educated immigrants that have established themselves
*I'm an average student (3.2 GPA)
*I don't play sports
*I'm not involved in the military
One of my friends told me that she gets PELL Grants that reduce the price of parking tickets in college and they pay for her books and then she gets a board of governors fee waiver that waives all the fees for her classes. She lives with her grandparents in a decent house and they have decent professional jobs, yet I dont apply for those things. It's bullshit.
I have another friend that went to a continuation school and got a bunch of scholarships for no reason. He ended up dropping out of junior college, and they just wrote him checks for $1,000's which he spent on weed and alcohol and video games, while dropping most of his classes.
Is it just me or is a lot of money being wasted trying to pay for people's education that don't need it or don't want it. It's being abused and this bullshit and a waste of resources. Anyone have any ideas on how I can get a peace of the pie.
Don't get me wrong, I believe that everyone should be given a chance at an education, but I wish they'd have to prove themselves or something before so much money is wasted on them, not just based on their parents income or whatever.
Sorry my thoughts were a little disorganized and this was a half rant and half question. So feel free to respond to my rant or answer my question.

It's called Sallie Mae and it sucks being lower middle class sometimes, at least I was. Not rich enough to pay for college and not poor enough to go for free. Your parents make a decent living, they can help.

Once you are accepted go to the finacail aid office and get a list of donor scholarships. Also search on line for scholarships.
If worst comes to worst look to a private lender, but search for the best rate and terms. Any idiot can borrow money for college now a days. You should be able to find a lender that will loan you the coin.

That is pretty much the situation. If you do not qualify for any aid then your going to have to take out a student loan. I also got a Sallie Mae last year. The interest rates are usually low and payments are deferred until several months after you graduate.

if you can't qualify for state/federal student loans (caveat: i have no idea how they work in the US) go to a commercial bank and look for a student line of credit. that's always the answer 'round these canadian parts.

Screw going to college. The only reason you need to go to college is if you're going to pursue in a career where you need a college degree (teacher, doctor, fighter pilot, etc).
Go to www.rockwellinstitute.com and sign up for the real estate priniciples and license package for $295. When you get your materials, go to the Dept of Real Estate at www.dre.ca.gov, and sign up for your license about 8 weeks out. That will give you enough time to really study up, etc. If you're a good test taker and/or motivated sign up for your test 4-6 weeks out. You'll pass.
Get your license and sell just one $500,000 house at 3% commission and get a check for $15,000. Then sell another. Then another.
You could already have one sale before you even figure out how you're going to pay for college. Not only that, you'll be in the game and earning a living for 4 years before all of your class mates get out of college and say "now wtf do I do?"
