Not only that, but even engaging Hovind in a debate is to say that a controversy exists. There is no real controversy. Also gives Hovind publicity and makes the two appear as equals. Hovind deserves no publicity (aside from the news of his criminal behavior) and he is not even close to Dawkins's caliber.

Dawkins is a prolific writer. He has written several books and submitted a great deal to peer reviewed journals. If Hovind wants to debate he can continue to try his hand at writing. From what I hear of his doctoral thesis, Hovind's writing is pretty good for a middle schooler. Of course, Hovind has videos for sale. Videos and snake oil.
