The only way Akira would work is if they had an All Asian cast and filmed it in Tokyo and that just aient gonna happen.

I have not watched the original Inglorius bastards but it is Tarantino so I guess it might be okey, Madsen is watchable.

will it be updated like 3 kings(Kelly's Heroes)?

I think the best movie to come out recently has been, Idocracy, in terms of the audience Hollywood sees as a target audience.

Meaning we are living in the Idiocracy now, and Hollywood is making movies that they think appeal to that demographic and sell. Looking around you, you do kind of wonder if they are correct, but it makes for a really poor movie going experience.

I get a lot of shit from girlfriends about the Costco "date". They are always in the car before me though.

True that.

But there was something beautiful, authentic, and terrifying about the landscape of New York's burroughs in the late 70s that the film captured. It was the perfect era for the plot.

I don't think modern Hollywood can manufacture the same type of mood, no matter how good the props and CG. Although it would look way fucking cooler.

Nightmare on Elm Street might be good, as long as they keep it serious and get good actor for Freddy.
