This is because it was a Tim Burton batman. It was not going to be like the comic, and the characters where not going to be all that Deep. I think if he had a director like this taking the movie this seriously, he would have been a different type of joker. Nicholson that is.

But I can't wait to see this movie.

Nicholson plays almost every crazy character the same way, he has his own type of crazy and thats all he uses you could have told him to put on makeup for the departed and boom joker rigth there. Ledger from a comic readers standpoint did extensive research into the characther and it was obvious that Nicholson did not.

I just got home from it and I would agree. Ledger was easily the best actor in that film.

i've been extremely loyal to the fact that the original batman is by far the best comic movie ever, and it still may be. I didn't want to say it, but I liked ledger's adaptation way more, albeit they were very different.

Heath did an amazing job. Too bad he inevitably died from this roll.

Its his Face, I think he gets the Crazy from how his face looks. Departed would not have been the same thing. He still LOOKS the same, but there are differences. He is the kind of guy you can pick out of a crowed because of how he looks. I think thats why it always seems the same.
But I do agree as well that he is Not as much a CHARACTER actor as some. But he still does a fine job playing what he needs to play.

Heath is awesome, no doubt about it. Believe me when I say ive been a fan of his for a long time. He has done some great acting and will be sorely missed in the movie world.
