Heath Ledger is a fine fine actor

I feel that Ledger's joker blows Nicholson's out of the water.

Pretty good performance by heath though i think you can't compare the two because while they're playing the same character, the 2 movies are miles apart,

Well its the same characther. As a comic reader I can say that Ledger is the Joker. Nicholson's interpretation was a shallow attempt at best. Ledger thoroughly prepared for this role, while Nicholson seemed like he just showed up on set and said ok time to play a crazy man.

I wouldnt say its so much ledger as it is director and other members of production... they decided to take this in a completely different direction and it ROCKED. This movie is A+++ it is like horror, insane action, a superhero that can lose for a change and it never got boring! awesome movie

I just left a midnight showing of the movie and I agree 1000%. He was a better Joker and that is the best Batman movie so far. 2 thumbs up.

Only Nicholson fan boys will argue otherwise. Ledger's Joker was more dynamic, more compelling, more interesting, more maniacal, better managed, more realistic, smarter...etc

Although I will recognize the films as fundamentally different, offering two distinct goals in character...there's just no way I can say Nicholson did it better.

What's a characther?

Yeah, I was honestly blown away by his performance. From his very first scene to the last, quality acting and worthy of at least an oscar nomination.
