99 mercedes clk320 reliability question

are these cars reliable? I can get a really good deal on one, it has only 100,000 KM thats around 62000 miles, I am having a hard time, because I drive a Honda and I know Honda as well as Toyota have unreal reliability ratings. I'm worries the benz will break and cost a fortune to fix / service, the seller works for MB (this is his personal car and it would be a private sale) he said if the car has any trouble he could get me service and parts for his cost as an employee
he really needs to sell the car because he needs the money as a down payment on his new car and he has already came down about $7000 from me haggling.

or for the same price I but a trusty 2001 honda accord ex with the same amount of km's.

ideas/ input?

You should also keep in mind that you will probably get more attention in a Mercedes than in a Honda. We have a Civic and a Mercedes. No one has ever tried to steal or mess with my Civic. But someone tried to steal our Mercedes twice in the first 2 months we had it.

Repair costs will be INSANE compared to your civic.

It's pretty new. We've never had any problems with it, so I can't say from experience, but I've heard many parts are actually cheaper to replace than their counterparts in Japanese cars.

That might be true. I don't really know what I'm talking about. I'm just saying what I heard someone say.

Unknown. Supposedly flaming in Mayberry, but a mod was unable to find the offensive post. No biggie. I'm sure I've said something to hurt someone's feelings.

I just looked at a parts site that sells both Mercedes and Civic parts. I compared about 20 common parts. Some of the Civic parts were more expensive, but then some of the Mercedes parts were like 2x as expensive. It seems Civic parts are probably cheaper overall.

i would think that the labor on a mercedes would be much more expensive. i don't even like getting my bmw looked at.
