There are guys who, for some reason, only hang out with chicks. They have very few, if any, guy friends. I'm very curious about this behavior. Why do these dudes do this?

Well, I know WHY they do it: hopes of dating one the girls they are "friends" with. I don't understand how they came to the conclusion that one these girls will actually fuck them.

I know a few guys who hang out almost exclusively with girls and live with only girl roommates.

These guys seem to be a bit more in touch with their feminine side (as a result of only being with chicks) and might seem gay at times. From what I observed, none of them actually straight up ask a girl out. They ask them to watch movies, plays, dinner, etc as "friends." They hope that the girl will see something she likes and will want to be more than friends. They're hoping it'll turn into a date. They try to "sneak" in a relationship with girls. Then they wonder why they can't establish or maintain relationships.

They also sympathize a lot with girls and show a lot of unnecessary respect for them. I've been in discussions where these guys deliberately side with the girls. For example, I was eating lunch with one of these kind of guys and with two chicks. The conversation came to a point where I mentioned I like MMA and martial arts. The guy doesn't know what that is, and I give up trying to explain it to him. He says he's never been in a fight in his life and talks about how he doesn't like violence. I was like .

I had another guy tell me he will never spar with a girl out of respect. WTF?

One thing in common all these bastards have is that they act like know-it-alls. They like to talk about stuff they hardly know anything about. Its kinda like a lot of girls I know. I had one of these fruitcakes give me advice on dating. I mentioned the "sneaking" in a relationship thing. Well one these idiots told me to do this matter-of-factly. The same guy who complained he never had a successful relationship.

I also had one who thought he was a BJJ expert. I was talking to some chicks about BJJ and how good it is for self-defense. I told them that its possible to knee bar someone if he tries to take your back. This guy came out of nowhere and said, "No that's not possible" with the most serious face.

I can't believe I actually know all these saps.

Didn't read the whole thing as I am impatient today, but I disagree with at least the very first part. The guys that I know that hang out with only chicks are often affeminate and seem pathetic, but really do get a lot of ass and rarely are looking for a relationship. Also, often times they are suprisingly sexist and don't get along with their mothers.

However, there is a different type of guy, and maybe this is the type of guy you are talking about (like I said, I didn't read it) the guy that can never take frienship past friendship with a girl. Yes, he is usually pathetic and still trying to be mr. Chivalry. Chivalry is dead and its not a bad thing. It doesn't mean men have to be disrespectful to women, and means we don't have to powder puff their pillows, open doors and kiss their feet! Just be human!!

I am not a fan of the dude who is friends with the chick and constantly tries to be friends just so eventually he might find a way into her pants. Seems like every girl I go out with has one of these dudes. "We would never hook up, he is just a friend, he is like my brother." Well, once we break up, next thing I hear from the ex is how that guy friend either tells her he loves her or thinks they should go on a date, ect. Just annoys me for some reason.

To Rinkstern, might not want to talk to much MMA to chicks until you get to know them better. Some hate it, some love it, seems like they are always on such opposite ends of the spectrum. Then again, some chicks will say they like anything you do.

Why are you talking to girls about MMA who don't know anything about MMA? Do you think its gratifying conversation to hear you can get a kneebar when someone is on your back? The better question - do you think THEY think its gratifying conversation?

Ah, the innocence of youth. It is the same principle as dancing with the ugly girls at the bar, or the ladies in their 40's & 50's. They have friends / daughters. If you are nice to them and don't try to get in their pants then they tell their friends / daughters how great you are and before you know it you have chicks trying to get in your pants. This process got me more tail in my 20's & 30's with little effort on my part. The only problem is that it takes a few months before it starts to pay off.

Exactly. It's my philosophy: be nice to every single girl you meet, because they all have hot friends.

I'm not exactly one of those guys, I have a lot of girl friends though. I just like their company as friends. I see them as my little sisters or something and when I date someone they're always critical of them like a sister should be. On a related note, I actually do not get along with my mother at all.

I don't buy into the chivalry thing, I'm nice to girls but I'm not "creepy nice" where every action is lived for them. If anything, I've learned that girls do not respond to that at all. They respond to being an asshole, or just ignoring them. They hate it. Girls (maybe not all of them, but most of the one's I've seen) like a challenge and seeing a guy vomit pleasantries and flowers every five seconds isn't exactly a thrill.

I'm a big fan of female friends. Females typically have more female friends.
