Did anyone else pick up GT5

(Gran Turismo 5: Prologue) yet? I would like to hear some thoughts on it from other people who own the game.
So far this is what I enjoyed and dislike about the game.
When I first fired the game up, I was greeted by about 30 minutes of updates and installs. It was very upsetting to get the game and have to wait, but then again I think most normal people can handle 30 minutes. Once the game started, I took the time to watch the opening movie. Very rarely do I make it through an entire video due to most opening movies being the same old in every game. This opening scene was much different though. It's truly eye opening as the environments and car detail are, as Joe Rogan would put it, "crazy!" Surely I still had my doubts though, as it was a movie. However, once I got into a race, I realized it was all gameplay that I had seen.
The gameplay itself is pleasing for sure. The settings can be changed so much that gameplay varies heavily on your settings. The first thing I did was use the standard settings. To any solid GT player, these won't be sufficient to feed your needs. Often times I was running fast laps, taking turns at unheard of speeds, and gaining on cars that were faster than me. This right here is where I truly believe most people put the game down. You will always see Forza 2, PGR fans saying that the GT series isn't realistic. However, it's most likely because they weren't playing on professional settings. Soon after getting used to the game again, I put the game on much more difficult settings. Again, I had to get used to the game as it was like I was playing something totally different. Had I mis-judged any corner, I paid for it heavily.
This got me thinking about how much I wish realistic damage was incorporated into this game. My initial thought was that the ball was dropped by Polyphony not using damage. How frustratingly awesome would it be to hit a corner too fast, only to see your Z06 hit the wall in a Burnout like accident? Great. The only issue I have with damage being implemented is how it would be accepted online. Online play would be ruined by the entrance to realistic damage. Kids would play the game like it WAS Burnout. So after truly thinking about it, I am 50/50 on damage (real damage though, not fake damage like Forza uses).
Continuing on, this game is slightly linear compared to the older GT games. This was expected though as it isn't the full version. The game doesn't have licenses, or many different types of races. No rally, or endurance. Although it seems like there is a lack of content, I have about 8 hours of play and I am (according to what I am reading online) somewhere in the 45%-50% range of being complete. I imagine the last half of the game will be much harder too, as winning with supercars is much harder than winning with an Integra. From the looks of it I will get about 25 hours of playtime, just to complete the game. Not bad for only $40.
My favorite thing about this game is the cars. Obviously you start with a shitty sedan of some sort (I picked the 04 Integra) and move up. There are some cases where you have to buy a crappy car to win a special event. Currently I have the Integra, 05 Lancer, 06 Z06, and I am about to pick up a Nissan 2007 GT-R. Just like real life, the 4WD cars are much nicer when compared to the rear wheel drive cars. As much as I enjoy the Viper and Corvette's power, I seem to prefer the lighter 4WD exotics.
I still have a lot more to do on this game, and I will add anything that comes up later, so stay tuned.
