not really. maybe for a few episodes, but sitcoms are formulaic by nature and rely on the endearing faults of the characters, which makes them really hard to pull off. seinfield pulled from so many sources though they kept it fresh even with basically 4 characters (elaine, jerry, kramer, and george).
