Got a Job Offer

So my boss asked me last week, if I wanted to be the successor of the current general manager in Shanghai. He'll be there for 1 year showing & teaching me everything before he moves to the states & wants me to take over when he's gone. It's a great opportunity for me, but I'd leave alot behind + having to move to China for at least 3 years. Money would be much better, so that wouldn't be a problem & it will move forward my career without a doubt... but Shanghai. What do you guys think?

btw, currently I'm an import manager making decent money & living a good life here in Germany. Anyone have any "China experience / advice"?

I'm definatly a traveler, but this would be actually living there for at least 3 years...

Are you married or do you have children? If not then I would go.

I can't offer any advice about China, but it would most likely be an awesome experience. Three years is a while, though.

Are you kidding? I would never pass up a better job and a chance to live in a new country for a few years. That's awesome!

I've been to Shanghai a number of times, once for a few weeks. I think it would be a pretty cool place to live for awhile. It's huge.

Dude unless you're married or something I'd take it. If you decide not to take the job, hook me up. Haha. I can think of thousands of places worse to live than Shanghai. I actually wanted to move there for a while.

Shanghai's an international city so you don't have to worry you won't be the only German guy there. And its huge, there should be plenty of fun stuff to do.
