I admit that you are correct to some degree, in Mayberry I usually get into discussions dealing with morality and get the Word out there as much as possible. Have some other interests here and there, like the thread on Mishima I just started.

I think it all depends on personal beliefs. Though I know of some couples that got married because the female in the relationship did not have health insurance provided by their job.

I think it's a bit selfish of you Bobby to think it's not about your parents. Or the kid for that matter. The kid may benefit from thinking (at least for the majority of his/her childhood) that its parents got married the "normal" way. Studies seem to indicate this at least.

As for your parents, perhaps you actually OWE your parents something for all the time and effort that they put into you. They are asking for some peace of mind and security in the community at large. It sounds like marriage might be inevitable anyways.

Quit fostering this little cultural rebellion you've got going on and make some sacrifices for your loved ones.

We all judge others to some degree when they have fundamental disagreements with us. Religious people just have more issues to have fundamental disagreements with others about.

Brainwashed? Who said I was brainwashed? Thats a ludicrous assumption to make. Brainwashed is the last thing anyone who knows me well would say.

Do you not notice that other people, who have no religious affiliation, think abortion to be immoral also? I know its easy to class me as brainwashed as it takes the heat out of what I'm saying, but thats not gonna change the facts of the issue.

get with the times?? Abortion IMO, except in extreme cases, is a cowardly way of getting out of the situation. How do you know that your life is better right now? Maybe the baby that you and your girl decided to murder would have brought you true happiness.

I believe without any religious background you could come to the conclusion abortion is evil. I don't think it should be outlawed, because it would happen anyway, in horrible, unsafe ways, and it would be unfair to girls that got raped and really had nothing to do with it, but I would never forgive myself if I got an abortion because I didn't want it to "ruin my life." I was mature enough to have sex, I better be mature enough to take care of the baby.

On a side note I decided I was going to get married. I had a good conversation with my brother, where we just talked about things and he basically convinced me that it was the right thing to do, and I agree. Seriously, there is no downside to it, because I know this girl is the one, and I know we will stay together forever. Now my family will have a better time accepting things, and my child will not be born out of wedlock. It is the utilitarian thing to do.
