Anyone here take a gap year, either before uni/college, or before work etc?

I'm just finished my degree, and need to get some travelling done before i settle into working life. Just wondered what sort of place you folks had travelled to, and what you would recommend.

I'm leaning towards teaching English in Thailand, and Happy Boy gave me some good leads for Japan.

Any help appreciated.

Korea is another one which people have raved about. Id look into Hong Kong too for English teaching programmes. There isnt much else you can do out here unless you have some very unique skill set to bring here, or somehow know the language already.

They have a lot of English teaching jobs in Hong Kong? It wouldn't seem like it, since English is an official language there.

TS, check out Korea and Taiwan. Those are probably the best places as far as salary goes.

Yep, Ive heard that in some places people have gotten English teaching jobs teaching business English and working for corporations to take their employees from very good at English to business fluent and able to handle all the "think outside the box within a conceptual framework" jargon.
